THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES

Commonwealth  Games

The Commonwealth Games were first held in 1930 in Hamilton, 11 countries sent 400 athletes to Canada to to take part in 6 sports and 59 events. since then the games have been held every 4 years (except 1942 and 1946 because of the Second World War).  The Commonwealth Games were then called the BRITISH EMPIRE GAMES but now they are the Commonwealth Games.
